Hello Limber Body and Mind Friends! Southern California based yoga teacher, Ildiko is here, and I am very excited you hopped on my page! The purpose of this post is to help you connect with a yoga community and to introduce you to my new website, Limberbodyandmind.com.
I wanted to find a platform outside the walls of a studio, where, as my current community member, I could help you. Also, I wanted to create a safe space, where, not only beginners and advanced practitioners but also skeptics, critics, curious people of yoga may want to explore its beauty and benefits.
Born and raised in Hungary as the daughter of chefs, my curiosity and passion for the culinary field started at a very young age. As my interest grew about food and its effects on the body, first, I started studying the sister science of yoga, Ayurveda.
Yoga became a part of my life in 2004, already living in the United States. Working in a corporate environment, I was desperately looking for an effective way to deal with stress.
When I took my first yoga class, it was love at first sight.
The year 2012 was the year of change for me. I left my full-time corporate sales job and enrolled in a yoga teacher training program. Six months later, I became certified and started teaching.
As I became a more experienced and knowledgeable instructor, I added workshops to my regular schedule. I was also invited to be a co-teacher in a Yoga Teacher Training program, which turned out to be a lot of fun.
It was just recently that some of my followers approached me about offering more of my thoughts and teachings in an online form, like creating a website or blog. Needless to say that my last few months have been a whirlwind of learning on blogging.
Through this process, I have discovered that creating something new means uncertainty, fear, and a lot of contemplation about what-ifs.
Is this how you felt when you first thought about joining a yoga class? Does this seem familiar to you before starting anything new?
Yes, I know. I am right there with you.
The good news is that YOU and ME both took the first step. YOU found me to seek guidance, and I created a new platform to help you connect with a Yoga Community.
I love reading yoga and lifestyle articles and blogs. I also enjoy applying all that I learned into practice.
Nothing makes me happier when I see my students connecting with their bodies. And when they share their experiences of implementing my teachings off the mat, it makes all worth it to be a yoga teacher.
The conversations and discussions we have before and after class go beyond the physical practice.
In this community, we help, encourage, and motivate each other.
For some people, this is the only place where they can heal, feel accepted, and supported. Although my story may be very different from yours, we have yoga to thank to unite us. By definition, this is the purpose and meaning of yoga.
In Sanskrit, the word Yoga comes from the word Yuj, which means to connect, to join, or to balance. The main goal of the website is to reach out and invite you to be part of this supportive group of friends.
I believe we have lessons to learn from all of our experiences in this lifetime. Yoga and meditation give us the tools to ride the waves with grace and peace.
Thank you so much for taking me with you on your journey. My goal is to cheer you on when things are going well and to uplift you when you need a helping hand.
I will see you on the mat.
Until then, be well, and love yourself!
